In this solo talk at Techonomy 24, Andrew Rasiej, Founder & CEO of Civic Hall, introduced the audience to Civic Hall, located at Union Square, NYC. He described it as the largest digital skills training center in the U.S., focused on providing digital skills to “underestimated populations.”
Rasiej emphasizes the unique and diverse technology ecosystem in New York City, where various entities, such as nonprofits, tech companies, and government agencies, collaborate not only to drive profits but also contribute positively to society. He acknowledged a longstanding industry challenge where those designing the future often don’t represent marginalized communities or those in need. Civic Hall aims to address this issue by offering a space for these individuals to learn and connect with tech companies, helping shape a more inclusive future.
He invited Techonomy 24 attendees to explore Civic Hall, learn about its programs, and consider adopting its model elsewhere, as such centers are needed nationwide. Rasiej concluded by expressing his desire for Civic Hall to host more events like TE24 and encouraged attendees to engage with the space and its community.
