Picarro: Hide-And-Seek is Over for Polluters and Regulators

By measuring emissions and looking at methane we can understand the real-time flux coming off refineries without ever having to get direct access. It requires precision on the order of measuring parts-per-billion in one second. We're going to have somebody driving a car equipped with these high-precision instruments that's going to send that data to a processing platform, essentially a cloud structure, where the science is going to be embedded. We're going to broadcast these hyper-visual, three-dimensional maps to anyone with a smart phone, anyone with a browser, which might include government agencies, community activists, regulators, environmentalists, or companies generating emissions. And when I speak to the people in those constituencies, the real question I have for them is "Do you really want to know?"
