Case Study: How Palo Alto is Using Microgrids To Build Climate Resilience with Nicola Acutt and Kenneth Dueker

The City of Palo Alto has been actively exploring microgrids to increase climate resilience and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Microgrids are small, self-contained electrical systems that can operate independently or in conjunction with the larger electrical grid. The City of Palo Alto is also exploring using microgrids to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by increasing the use of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power. The city is working with local utilities and other stakeholders to develop a microgrid system to integrate these renewable energy sources into the larger electrical grid. Nicola Acutt and Kenneth Dueker will report on the efficacy and efficiency of the project so far and explore where it heads from here.
