J. Carl Ganter is CEO of Vector Center and managing director of Circle of Blue, the internationally recognized independent journalism, science, data, design and convening organization that reports on global resource issues, particularly the competition between water, food and energy in a changing climate.

Circle of Blue has been recognized by the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, World Economic Forum, the Clinton Global Initiative, among others. Through its widely referenced Choke Point series, as well as WaterNews, Hotspots H20 and investigative special reports, which Ganter directs, Circle of Blue has completed extensive work in China, India, the U.S., Mexico, South America, Africa and Asia. Mr. Ganter served as vice chairman of the Global Agenda Council on Water Security at the World Economic Forum. He is a member of the Forum’s Global Future Council on the Environment, New Vision for Agriculture Initiative and a contributor to the Forum’s annual Global Risks Report. Mr. Ganter is a recipient of the Rockefeller Foundation Centennial Innovation Award, the Foundation’s highest honor, and served as a nominator for the MacArthur Foundation “Genius Awards” and the Heinz Environment Awards.

In 2014, Mr. Ganter founded Vector Center, an environmental situational risk analytics firm that combines artificial intelligence with contextual reporting. Vector’s Perception Reality Engine™ produces decision-grade intelligence on unfolding water, food, energy, and climate crises with response modeling.

Mr. Ganter’s work has appeared in most major magazines, newspapers, and television and radio networks.
