Susan Mac Cormac is a corporate partner at global law firm Morrison & Foerster. She regularly advises Fortune 500 companies, social enterprises, investors, and financial institutions on how to structure transactions to promote economic, environmental, social, and governance returns. Clients turn to her to ensure their companies and investments maximize positive impact through use of new corporate forms, innovative hybrid structures, alternative debt and equity instruments, and appropriate disclosure requirements.

In 2015, the Financial Times named Ms. Mac Cormac the Most Innovative North American Lawyer and she was named Attorney of the Year by California Lawyerin 2012 and 2016 for her work championing impact investing and social enterprise legal innovation. She was a founding board member of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board, is a member of the Ceres President’s Council and the Board of Earth Genome Project, and an advising board member of the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy’s Strategic Investor Initiative. She is also professor of social enterprise law at UC Berkeley School of Law.

Ms. Mac Cormac holds a B.A. from Williams College and received her J.D. and LL.M. degrees from Duke University School of Law. She resides in the Presidio with her husband and three sons.
