Rasheda L. Weaver, PhD

Dr. Rasheda L. Weaver is the first assistant professor for the new Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Iona College. She conducted the first large-scale empirical study on the social, economic and legal activities of social enterprises in the United States and is the founder of Weaver's Social Enterprise Directory, a national, public directory for social enterprises.   For the last two years, Dr. Weaver has served as chair for the Social Entrepreneurship/ Enterprise Section of the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA). In January 2020, she was voted the co-chair elect for the Social Entrepreneurship Interest Group for the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE). She is also a member of the EMES International Research Network’s Ecosystems Workgroup, which focuses on mapping social enterprise ecosystems around the world.
