William J. Raduchel

Strategic Advisor

William J. Raduchel is a strategic advisor on technology and media, independent director and angel investor. He has taught corporate strategy at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University for six years. From June 2006 through June 2011, he was chairman of Opera Software ASA, and from March 2004 through June 2006 of Ruckus Network. Previously, he was Chief Technology Officer of AOL Time Warner and chief strategy officer of Sun Microsystems, following senior executive roles at Xerox Corporation and McGraw-Hill, Inc. At Sun he was recognized as both CFO and CIO of the year and at AOL as CTO of the year. He was the chair of the committee on copyright and innovation in the digital era for the National Academy of Sciences and is in his thirteenth year serving on the national advisory board for the Salvation Army. He has twenty-one issued and several pending U.S. patents. Raduchel received his B.A. in economics from Michigan State University in 1966 and earned his A.M. (1968) and Ph.D. (1972) degrees in economics at Harvard. Michigan Technological University gave him an honorary D.B.A. in 2002.
