Stewart Brand is president of The Long Now Foundation and co-founder of its “Revive & Restore.” He created and edited the Whole Earth Catalog, winner of a National Book Award, and co-founded the Hackers Conference, The WELL, and Global Business Network. His books include “The Clock of the Long Now,” “How Buildings Learn,” and “The Media Lab.” His most recent book is titled “Whole Earth Discipline: An Ecopragmatist Manifesto.” He graduated with a degree in biology from Stanford and served as an Infantry officer.
