Russell Hensley

Principal, McKinsey & Company

Russell Hensley is an Expert Principal in the Automotive and Assembly Practice of McKinsey & Company, based in the Detroit office.  He is a 22-year veteran of the automotive industry and has worked exclusively on projects with automotive manufacturers, suppliers, investors and high tech companies.  Some of his recent project experiences include serving a global automotive manufacturer on series of initiatives; serving a global automotive supplier on the development of  business unit strategy and operational initiatives; serving a global OEM on the development of global emissions and fuel economy strategy; and serving a potential new market entrant on global strategy for development of low speed electric vehicle strategy. Prior to joining the Firm, Russell worked for Ricardo Consulting Engineers, leading their Vehicle Engineering Operations in North America and with a global OEM in product development launching multiple vehicle programs in Europe, North America and Asia.  Russell has an MBA (with distinction) from The University of Michigan and BEng Mechanical Engineering from Leeds University, England.
