In this role, Paul leads TerraPraxis’s philanthropic strategy and outreach— TerraPraxis is a nonprofit organization that innovates and incubates scalable solutions for a livable planet and human prosperity. TerraPraxis accelerates solutions for neglected areas of the climate challenge—particularly the difficult-to-decarbonize sectors of industrial heat, coal, and heavy transport.
Paul has extensive knowledge and experience developing philanthropic opportunities for major research universities and non-profit organizations. He has engaged the philanthropic community to support programs and priorities in nuclear engineering, global health, and climate science priorities and programs.
Paul’s most recent position was Principal Gift Officer at the Pew Charitable Trusts. At Pew, he secured philanthropic support for programs in religion, politics, policy, race, and ethnicity, immigration, healthcare, and environmental and conservation science.
Previously he served as Director of Development at the T.H. Chan Harvard School of Public Health. He was responsible for advancing philanthropic interest in global health and school priorities and programs. During his tenure, he raised philanthropic support in India to support the Harvard T.H. Chan School’s India Research Centre in Mumbai, India.
He previously served as a Development Officer in the MIT School of Engineering, responsible for advancing philanthropy for the Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. His efforts at MIT resulted in philanthropic support for professorships, fellowships, and unrestricted support for departmental initiatives. He also provided leadership to develop the philanthropic needs and priorities to support The Plasma Science and Fusion Center (PSFC) at MIT.
Paul graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a BA in Political Science and History. He is currently a member of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst Department of Political Science Advisory Board and was a past board member of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst Alumni Association.
