Nathan Eagle is the CEO and co-founder of Jana, the largest provider of free internet in emerging markets. Through Jana’s mCent Browser, the next billion smartphone users are coming online without incurring data charges. Jana makes all mobile content freely accessible and discoverable through technology integrated into the billing systems of 311 mobile operators andavailable to 4.56 billion mobile subscribers. Today, Jana has provided over 40 million emerging market users with free, ad-sponsored internet access. The company has raised nearly $100MM from investors who share its mission of making the internet free. Eagle has served on the faculty at both MIT and Harvard University and is a Technology Pioneer at the World Economic Forum. He holds a BS and two MS degrees from Stanford’s School of Engineering as well as a PhD from MIT.
