Nadira A. Hira

Writer / Host / Commentator

Nadira Hira is a writer at heart. But in true restless Generation Y style, she does it her way—as an award-winning journalist, editor, speaker, television personality, all-round curator of great conversations, and author of the forthcoming “Misled: How a Generation of Leaders Lost the Faith (And Just What You’ll Need to Get It Back).” Nadira has become a leading voice on Gen Y through her insight as an unfathomable Y-er herself, her generational evangelism speaking at such companies as AT&T and Walt Disney Imagineering, and her journalism at Fortune, where she began analyzing her cohort with 2007’s “You Raised Them, Now Manage Them”—purportedly the first Fortune cover story to feature an emoticon. In her decade as a journalist, Nadira has covered everything from Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter to the ancient art market, written for such titles as Essence and Smithsonian, and appeared on the likes of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” and VH1’s “The Fabulous Life.” A would-be poet, sometime bartender, and professional sports fan, Nadira has a B.A. in English with a creative writing emphasis from Stanford University, where she edited the inimitable Stanford Daily.
