Chairman, The Virtual Computing Environment Company

Michael Capellas, a 30-year IT veteran, is viewed as one of the leading technology thought leaders of our time, with a career that has spanned from semiconductors to cloud computing. He spent 18 years of his career at Schlumberger, including as the company’s first head of IT. Afterwards, he held executive positions at SAP and later at Oracle. Following Oracle, he went to Compaq where he held the positions of CIO, COO, and later Chairman and CEO. Following Compaq’s merger with HP, he was named President of HP. Worldcom remains, to this day, the largest turnaround story in corporate history. Michael has been a member of the Cisco board since January 2006 and chairs the acquisition and investment committees. Currently, Michael is Chairman of VCE, The Virtual Computing Environment Company, and serves as a senior advisor to KKR and Deutsche Bank.
