Martin Morgan

Chief Executive, Daily Mail and General Trust Plc (DMGT)

Early in his career, Martin started a student travel company in South Africa. After completing his MBA at the London Business School, he joined Reed International, working as the personal assistant to the deputy chairman before moving into the media division. He held a number of managing directorships, including those of Reed’s travel and medical interests, and moved to the United States. He returned to the UK in 1989 to join Daily Mail and General Trust plc (DMGT) as part of the group’s initiative to diversify beyond the newspaper industry. In 2000, following a period of rapid growth in his division, dmg information, coupled with an investment emphasis on the United States, he returned to that country to run the company from U.S. headquarters. In 2008 Martin became Chief Executive of DMGT and relocated to London. He is a non-executive Director of Euromoney Institutional Investor plc, and The City of London Investment Trust PLC. He is a member of the President’s Council of the CBI. Martin was educated in South Africa and England, earning a BA from the University of the Witwatersrand and an MBA from the London Business School.
