Julie Samuels is the President and CEO of Tech:NYC, which she founded in 2016 to represent New York’s fast-growing tech sector. She is also a Venture Partner at Hangar. Previously, Julie served as Executive Director of Engine and worked as a senior staff attorney at the Electronic Frontier Foundation. She began her career in journalism, policy, and IP law. Julie holds a J.D. from Vanderbilt University and a B.S. in journalism from the University of Illinois. She serves on several nonprofit boards and has been recognized among Crain’s 40 Under 40 and New York City’s 50 Most Powerful Women. She lives in New York City with her family.
