Jim Breyer is passionate about investing, social entrepreneurship, and venture philanthropy, and actively supports numerous educational and environmental non-profit initiatives. He is also a fellow of the Harvard Corporation, Harvard University’s senior governing board. Jim is the founder and CEO of Breyer Capital, an innovative investment and venture philanthropy firm, and a partner at Accel Partners, a leading venture capital firm. Jim has been an investor in over 30 consumer Internet, media, and technology companies that have completed public offerings or successful mergers. Several of these investments have returned over 100 times their cost and many more have returned over 25 times their cost to investors. Jim led Accel’s investment in Facebook in 2005 and served on the board of directors from 2005 until 2013. Jim is currently the lead or co-lead investor in and a director of privately held companies including Etsy, Legendary Entertainment, and Circle Financial. Jim and Breyer Capital is a founding limited partner and strategic partner of IDG China Venture Capital Funds and has played a principal advisory role in China since 2005.
