Jen Crozier is IBM’s Vice President of Global Citizenship Initiatives, and is responsible for a broad portfolio of philanthropic initiatives that provide grants of IBM technology and talent to communities around the world.
Ms. Crozier helped devise the Corporate Service Corps, a corporate version of the Peace Corps that deploys thousands of IBM’s future leaders on pro bono consulting assignments in the developing world. She also led the development of IBM’s Smarter Cities Challenge, a sister program to Corporate Service Corps that deploys teams of IBM experts to municipalities, such as Detroit, to help address urban issues.
Ms. Crozier oversees World Community Grid, a volunteer computing initiative in which the unused power of computers is donated by the general public to scientists. The scientists use this crowdsourced supercomputer to perform simulations in their quest to develop cures for serious illnesses and technologies for cleaner water and energy.
In addition, she leads IBM’s economic development portfolio, which provides tools such as Supplier Connection, a Web site that enables vendors to more easily bid for contracts offered by corporations.
Prior to joining IBM’s Corporate Citizenship department, Ms. Crozier spent a decade in various roles at IBM, including communications, public policy and market intelligence.
Ms. Crozier is a frequent author and speaker, with her work featured in the Harvard Business Review, the Huffington Post and events around Corporate Citizenship, urban policy, and economic development. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Colorado College and a M.A. in Linguistics from SUNY Stony Brook.
