James leads the Investor Relations & Financial Communications function at Philip Morris International, a leading global consumer goods company which is transforming from its legacy business of combustible cigarettes to providing science-backed smoke-free products to consumers, advancing Tobacco harm reduction. Starting from zero 10 years ago, smoke-free products already make up over 40% of PMI’s net revenues and James has been closely involved in shaping the strategic narrative of the company over this period.
Mr. Bushnell was appointed Vice President of Investor Relations and Financial Communications in June 2022, having previously served as Director and Deputy Head of Investor Relations from 2019. He joined PMI in 2017 as Director, Corporate Planning and Business Development.
Before joining PMI, Mr. Bushnell was an equity analyst for 10 years at Citigroup and Exane BNP Paribas , during which time he was ranked the number one tobacco analyst in the Institutional Investor and Extel awards for three consecutive years (2015-2017). Mr Bushnell started his career at PwC in London.
Mr. Bushnell is a chartered accountant and holds a degree in mathematics from the University of Bristol.
