Executive Managing Director, Stroz Friedberg

Erin Nealy Cox is an executive managing director at Stroz Friedberg, a global leader in investigations, intelligence, and risk management. In this capacity, she leads the Incident Response Unit for Stroz Friedberg. As such, Erin is responsible for the overall operations of the entire incident response group across the world, including supervising the first responders, threat intelligence analysts, and malware specialists. These responders are deployed to assist corporate clients affected by cyber-attacks, state-sponsored espionage, and data-breach cases in all sectors including retail, hospitality, energy, biomedical/health, and critical infrastructure. In addition, Erin has significant expertise in helping corporate clients respond to both insider and outsider cyber-threats. She maintains a full docket of corporate client assignments in the area of cyber-crime investigations, data-breach response, and digital forensics, and has become a go-to subject matter resource in cyber-risk for large corporate boards of directors. As a result, Erin is a trusted advisor to top executives, in-house lawyers, and outside counsel. She is also one of five executive managing directors that serve on the firm’s executive leadership committee. Prior to Stroz Friedberg, Erin served as an assistant U.S. attorney, leading major cyber-crime prosecutions nationwide while also handling complex cases of white-collar fraud, public corruption, and intellectual property theft. Additionally, she served as chief of staff and senior counsel for the Office of Legal Policy at the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. during the Bush Administration. In this capacity, she worked on high-priority legislative and policy initiatives for the Department of Justice.
