Eric Hysen

Technical Program Manager, Elections and Civic Engagement, Google

Eric Hysen is program manager for elections and civic engagement at Google. For the 2012 U.S. elections, his team developed and launched a central election information hub and online polling place and ballot information tools that were used over 23 million times. Eric has also managed the launch of similar services for more than 20 elections worldwide, including those in Kenya, Mexico, Egypt, Germany, and Australia.

Prior to joining Google in 2009, Eric built tools to drive youth voter turnout through social media at the Harvard Institute of Politics. Eric holds a B.A. with honors in computer science from Harvard College, and has published research on using advanced crowdsourcing techniques to solve complex problems.
