Doug Kisor

A dedicated educator who maintains a professional practice, Douglas Kisor’s client list includes College for Creative Studies, DaimlerChrysler Corporation, The Henry Ford Museum, General Motors Corporation, Design Michigan – Cranbrook Academy of Art, UpJohn Corporation, Facilities Management Institute and Eastern Michigan University.

Professor Kisor connects the department globally. He founded the annual international summer graphic design study program based in Den Haag the Netherlands. This program is an intense three week graphic design program where participants interact with some of the best European designers and design offices. He is a founding member and first President of AIGA Detroit, an international graphic design advocacy organization. He has served on AIGA regional and national committees and task groups and is a member on the board of the Graphic Design Education Association and chaired their conference ethics and values in design education. Professor Kisor also is a program reviewer for the national accreditation organization, North American Schools of Art and Design.

Professor Kisor has extensive experience as a guest speaker and has a long list of published works. His presentations include ICOGRADA, Visualogue conference in Nagoya Japan Schools of Thoughts II, Art Center Los Angeles, Schools of Thoughts III, Art Center Los Angeles, Hear Say, University of the Arts, Philadelphia as well as lecturers at many other conferences and universities. His work has been published in AIGA Communication Annual, American Center for Design 100 Show, Print Regional Annual, Soul Design, Typographics 2, Typography Now Two and other regional and national publications. He is a contributor to the book, Teaching Motion Graphics, edited by, Steven Heller and a co-curator of the traveling exhibition of “New Dutch Graphic Design.”
