Founder and CEO, Open Data Nation

Carey Anne is the Founder and CEO of Open Data Nation, a social benefit corporation that consults with cities, causes, and brands to put open data to good use.

The mission of Open Data Nation is to spark civic technology innovations and elevate open-data-driven economies. With Open Data Nation, clients identify innovative projects and products that can be built from existing open data resources, leverage local ingenuity in civic challenges hosted by Open Data Nation, gain access to Open Data Nation-endorsed solutions, and hire talented open data innovators. In 2015, Open Data Nation was named a technology innovation that would change our digital lives by the Boston Globe.

Before founding Open Data Nation, Nadeau worked for the past decade doing quantitative research and analysis using open data. She has worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a Research Affiliate to quantify and evaluate the living wage and as a Research Analyst at think tanks including the Urban Institute and Brookings Institution to analyze affordability and accessibility for low-income families in US metropolitan areas. Nadeau holds a Masters in City Planning from MIT and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Policy from The George Washington University.  She lives and works in Washington DC.
