Balaji Prabhakar is chief scientist and co-founder at Urban Engines. He is a Stanford professor and director of the Stanford Center for Societal Networks, a prominent research initiative to make societal networks smarter, more scalable, and more efficient. Among Balaji’s many awards and honors, he is the recipient of the inaugural IEEE Innovation in Societal Infrastructure Award, which recognizes “significant technological achievements and contributions to the establishment, development, and proliferation of innovative societal infrastructure systems.” He also serves on the advisory board of the Future Urban Mobility Initiative of the World Economic Forum.
