Autodesk Distinguished Researcher Andrew Hessel is a futurist and catalyst in biological technologies aiming to reduce the gap between science fiction and science. In addition to his work with Autodesk’s Bio/Nano Programmable Matter group, he is a fellow at the University of Ottawa, Institute for Science, Society, and Policy, and the co-founder of the world’s first cooperative biotechnology company, the Pink Army Cooperative, which is pursuing open source virus-based cancer therapies.
