Alison Sander

Alison serves as the Director of BCG’s Center for Sensing & Mining the Future and brings more than 20 years’ experience working with senior teams on complex challenges.  The Center for Sensing & Mining the Future develops BCG’s global trend library and provides guidance to clients seeking to better understand trends that will shape their future. Alison has designed significant growth strategies for clients across many sectors and has used Megatrends to help clients form long term visions and find the next billion dollars of revenue. The Center tracks more than 100 trends that cut across the latest technological developments, demographic shifts, economic requirements, and consumer shifts, among others.  Prior to joining BCG in 1997, Alison worked for two years at Goldman Sachs and ran her own company, Cambridge Transnational Associates, providing advice to companies expanding overseas. Alison has an MBA from Harvard Business School, a JD from Harvard Law School, and a BA in political science with high honors from the University of Chicago.  She is a member of the Asia Society, the Council on Foreign Relations, a former overseer at the Boston Museum of Science, and a Board Member of WRI an environmental think tank with offices in DC and Beijing. Alison has worked in or traveled to more than 89 countries. Alison is a noted speaker on future trends and on global complexity for the State of the World Forum, Harvard Business School, The Australian World Future Summit, the Commission on Globalization, and the Strategic Management Society as well as for many senior Boards and executive teams.
