AJ Kantor is Chief of Staff at Zap Energy, a Seattle-based startup building scalable nuclear fusion technology. She has devoted her career to building bold and challenging technical projects — after graduating from UC Berkeley, she spent 4.5 years at Tesla (from the first days of Model X through scaling of the Model 3 program) supporting critical raw material supply chain strategy, internal systems development, a downstream supply chain program, global battery line builds, and Tesla’s internal battery cell programs. She moved on thereafter to venture capital, where she focused on hard tech investing and participated on the boards of VulcanForms (industrial metal additive manufacturing), Reliable Robotics (autonomous aviation), and ForSight Robotics (robotic ophthalmic surgery). Her experience in large scale, time-bound R&D and technical programs, and her deep exposure to company building at all stages, has brought her to Zap Energy, where she is working to bring the same degree of rigor, innovation, and success to the field of nuclear fusion.
