I had the pleasure of attending the Sages & Scientists Symposium for the first time in September, and it was an extraordinary experience. Organized annually by The Chopra Foundation, this event brings together thought leaders from various fields to explore and discuss groundbreaking ideas that bridge integrative health, humanity, the cosmos, and consciousness.

The symposium features diverse speakers, including entrepreneurs, philosophers, medical experts, scientists, musicians, and artists. These visionaries collaborate to address pressing global challenges related to well-being and sustainability. The event aims to foster profound experiences and dialogues that bridge leadership, innovation, technology, and integrative health.

Having been familiar with Dr. Chopra’s work for a long time, I was particularly excited to hear him speak about the four phases of life and his experiences. His ability to mix Eastern philosophy with Western medicine is genuinely captivating. On the first night, we had dinner in a grand ballroom filled with hundreds of people, and Dr. Chopra led a meditation session. Accompanied by a talented young sitar player from Bellrose, Queens, Dr. Chopra used voice prompts to guide us through statements, questions, and points of view. Although I had never tried meditation before, I decided to surrender to the experience entirely, which was very pleasant. This has sparked my interest in exploring meditation more seriously in the future.

I also had the honor of participating in the panel, “The Audacity to Lead: Inspiring Change and Innovation,” alongside Manoj Narender Madnani, Dr. Canan Dagdeviren, and Kunal Sood (as moderator). Dr. Canan Dagdeviren, an Associate Professor at MIT Media Lab, shared an inspirational story about developing a bra with embedded technology to detect minute incidents of breast cancer, motivated by the loss of her aunt. Manoj Narender Madnani, Managing Director at Marathon Digital Holdings, is a fascinating global entrepreneur with extensive international experience.

The symposium took place in Cambridge, MA, and I was impressed by how well they tapped into the scientific community at MIT and Harvard. The program was rich with wonderful people who were deeply devoted to The Chopra Foundation. I also think highly of the President of The Chopra Foundation, Poonacha Machaiah.

Overall, the Sages & Scientists Symposium was a profoundly enriching experience. I look forward to staying connected with the incredible individuals I met there and continuing to explore the insights and practices shared at the event.
