Matt Stempeck is on a mission to do good at meaningful scale. This mission has led Matt in a career applying technology to journalism, government, and politics. As Microsoft’s director of civic technology, Matt finds creative ways to support New York City’s thriving civic tech community and leverage one of the world’s most successful technology companies for social good. Prior to Microsoft, Matt got his master’s at the MIT Media Lab, and graduated with high honors from the University of Maryland College Park. Matt has lived, worked, and played in New York, San Francisco, Boston, London, and Washington, DC.
