Kathy Bloomgarden

Kathy Bloomgarden is the CEO of Ruder Finn, one of the largest independent public relations agencies in the world, serving clients across four key pillars: Technology & Innovation, Corporate & Public Trust, Health & Wellness, and Consumer Connections.

Over her more than 30 years of experience in corporate reputation management, Kathy has developed communications programs for a large range of clients, including Novartis, Citi, PepsiCo, and Microsoft.

Kathy’s innovative and entrepreneurial spirit has led to the firm’s leadership in the digital media arena through Ruder Finn’s Innovation Studios, which has expanded into one of the PR industry’s largest dedicated digital teams. RFI has extensive experience building websites, mobile apps, and internal and external collaboration tools, as well as engaging stakeholders through intent-driven social media and other digital platforms. Kathy has also been deeply involved in developing Ruder Finn’s proprietary approach to issues management and a tool for managing online firestorms that combines traditional social media monitoring with sophisticated social network analysis.

Kathy is a board member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Partnership for New York City and the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health, and a member of the Arthur Page Society and PR Seminar.  She is the author of “Trust: The Secret Weapon of Effective Business Leaders.”
