Dan Elron is responsible for defining Accenture’s strategy and offerings in a variety of domains, primarily in the technology space, and for leading many of the firm’s innovation initiatives. He helps Accenture and its clients develop approaches for understanding the impact of major technology shifts and of enablers of disruption such as cloud computing and the Internet of Things. The approaches he has developed focus on the dual changes in what a firm offers its clients and on how it operates and is architected. That includes developing approaches that leverage complex ecosystems including startups, and new internal approaches to develop and scale new capabilities.

In his innovation role, Mr. Elron helps drive the firm’s overall innovation agenda and architecture, the efforts to bring more innovative ideas and solutions to Accenture’s clients and to expand its ecosystem by connecting with innovative organizations and start-ups, and to coordinate across Accenture’s 60 innovation centers worldwide.

Prior to this role, he was the Global Managing Director of Accenture’s Telecommunications Industry practice. He has advised many of the largest companies in the telecommunications and technology industries in North America, Europe and Asia.

Mr. Elron is a member of the IEEE and ACM. He has served as the advisor for the information technology industries for the World Economic Forum, and carried out extensive research on the impact of digital technologies and cloud computing on economic development and industry structures. He is also the Associate Director of the University of Virginia’s Center for the Management of Information Technology, where he teaches classes on technology management and digital innovation.
