Adam Lewis is Head of Innovation at SandboxAQ, where he leads R&D in AI and computational technologies for drug, material, and chemical discovery. His team develops Large Quantitative Models (LQMs), advanced systems capable of delivering lab-accurate predictive modeling at a massive scale. Their recent breakthroughs, published in ACS Chemistry and conducted in collaboration with NVIDIA, NOVONIX, and other partners, are redefining the boundaries of computational science.
A physicist by training, Adam earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Toronto, where he focused on GPU-based simulations of black hole mergers to enhance gravitational wave detection. During his postdoctoral fellowship at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, he modeled quantum fields in curved spacetime before joining Alphabet’s X (Google’s Moonshot Factory) as a Research Scientist. His research has been published in leading journals, including Physical Review Letters and Nature Communications, spanning quantum entanglement, tensor networks, and complex simulations.
